end my cars life (240sx idle problem)
this things the biggest pain in the ass ever, it cant go 2 fuckin months without something goin wrong.
anyways, when i start my car up my idle bounces between 500-750 the lights dim and sometimes it shuts off, but usually by the time it warms up and been driving a couple minutes its fine. is it my battery, alternator, some type of ips problem?

Well the idle speed on the 240sx shouldn't go as low as 500 RPM, which is why your lights dim, because your alternator wasn't designed to run at such a low RPM. As for idle speed, what year 240? Modified OBD 2 cars can have problems with idle as the computer doesn't understand information it's recieving from maf or o2 sensors. Other possibilities coulb be a wiring problem, ecu, idle air control motor, poor cold compression, or another sensor issue. Your best bet is to pay the 60- 80 dollars to have it properly diagnosed before you spend any money guessing.
its the AACV, when there is any resistance in them they cuz the RPMs to fluxuate and die when it is cold, but when it warms up it has no problems its the valve that is labeled AACV under the intake manifold by the thottle body and dont confuse it with the IAC.
