- Other

Nissan

Mazda
- RX 7/8
- Miata
- Other

Subaru
- Impreza/WRX
- Sti
- Legacy

Toyota
- Supra
- Celica
- Corolla
- MR-2/S
- Other

Specialty Classes:
Farthest Traveled (might be a cash prize)
Best
- Engine
- Ext.
- Int. (maybe but probably not)
- JDM (might be a cash prize for this one)
- JDM inspired (non Japanese vehicles only)
- Display
- Club

how many SKYLINES do you think are in the area? let alone will attend a meet that has no background as a meet that will get them anywhere in Show?

you are riding the JDM fad.....keep it simple, Sport Compact...less you have say NOPI or HIN judges, opinions will be biased (and I know NOPI/HIN judges arent the best)

just hold an huge meet, who cares about trophies.....my car is my playtoy/hooker and means of transport....how many people on here have a dedicated show car?????

This car show isn't intended for the bling it's for the people who have clean daily drivers and want to get some recognition for them or people like EMOTION who have show/functional Japanese cars. How are we riding the JDM fad when no one has brought a JDM show to the east coast (not that I know of anyways)? If we have a Sport Compact show it will be just like any other run of the mill that you could go to anywhere. I know of a Skyline in MD that would be interested in showing up. I've been a judge for NOPI and we plan on doing a Carlisle Tuner event themed points system. I'm not expecting everyone to like this idea, but I think this would be something different and VA is only getting HIN.

Because the East Coast is far enough away from JapaHHn to not get completely hung up on it. Seriously, it's not going to be exciting at all for people to show up with their 1997 Civic Sedan with JDM headlights, call it a letter code instead of calling it a Civic and show it. I'm just saying, the rest of the tuning world has moved on and accepted that we live in the US, not Japan, and don't care about it anymore.

JDM parts on some cars are very clean, when done subtley, but noone really cares if you really did install that JDM ashtray enough to attend a show about it.

But good luck with it.

You do have a relevant point MerF. This show is for Japanese manufactured vehicles that want to show. Like I said we're not only catering to the guys with the "JDM" lips and headlights and such but to those who have also built their car for show. Anything from JDM, Drift, Show or Clean styling is what we're looking for. If we keep with the idea of only giving out a first place trophy and then giving out a plaque or a smaller trophy to those who meet the point standard I think it would bring more attendance. It's a show that hasn't been brought to the east coast yet and would be different from the norm and bring a show to VA non the less. Keep the feedback coming! Sorry if I'm being redundant

i think that's a great idea! me and a couple of friends were thinking about flying out to california this summer just to go to a jdm car show but now we won't have to. oh and don't let other people discourage you. nobody has given up on jdm and having a meet like this would prove it. with enough promoting, this thing could be huge.

we did go to a jdm supercars meet in manassas last year, but other then that i don't know of any jdm shows in virginia, maryland, dc, etc. oh ya, keep it all jdm.

aSlacker8 - Don't worry I am not going to be swayed away from it being a JDM show. However I am flexible on the classes ex. 5 eg owners and 5 ek owners demand separated classes. Thanks for the positive feedback, I'll keep you posted!
Bandit - The true Japanese vehicles (RHD) will be eligible for the "Best JDM" trophy and would compete in their normal class.
brickcityblade - The other non-JDM vehicles will be able to compete in the "JDM inspired" class. Definitely will keep everyone updated!
