Extremely well done, a fitting tribute.
The thing I don't understand (or like for that matter) is that for all the people that lost a friend, brother, son, cousin, nephew, husband, boyfriend, or father.....................
is that the media and the police are starting a "witch-hunt" and pointing fingers saying the "modifications to the car" had something to do with the accident and the fire. In other words I don't want to see RPM being hung out to dry for it, or made out to be the scapegoat.
The customer requested the modifications be done to the vehicle, the shop performed that service for the customer as requested. End of story. No one forced RPM to modify the car, they didn't just pick one off the street and start modding it at random. IT WAS REQUESTED BY THE CUSTOMER!
There are and will continue to be FACTORY installed twin turbo cars, are the automakers responsible for any accidents because they made the cars faster? Doubtful, very doubtful.
It's just a sad story any way you slice it, I just hope that the media and powers that be can see that it was an accident, not planned or intended.
I feel for the family, friends, co-workers, and the children and my thoughts and prayers go out to them in their time of need.
Can anyone here at Driven start a fundraiser for the family? I for one would contribute towards it.
I don't think anyone was trying to "blame" modifications to the car. It is extremely unlikely that a car will burst into flames in a wreck, so anything different than a regular car might be the cause to a layperson... or police officer trying to determine the cause of the wreck. Everyone knows that "if it bleeds it leads" for media coverage, unfortunately they took it and ran with the idea.

From CBS-6:
"Investigators are looking into whether the car had modifications that may have caused it to catch fire with Turner inside."
"Update 11:26pm
Investigators say they are looking into conflicting reports that the red sports car contained nitrous oxide, a horsepower booster used in high performance cars. Based on the red Nissan's license plate and Turner's employment at RPM, investigators say they are looking into whether nitrous oxide and speed may have played a role in the explosion. As of now, the accident remains under investigation.
