no, it's the same block for 02-05, for the 06's they have a 2.5L block.

the EJ20 in the 02-05 cars is an open deck design, which is one of the weak points of the motor. another being the hyper cast pistons. a couple of knocks at high boost, high rpm and bingo, you've got cracked pistons.

the biggest reliable number that i know of is about 400 wheel on a stock 2.0L block.

whoever said it abotu the tranny's is right, shift it like a hero and it's going to break.

and i would love to know where to find an STi tranny for 1200 bucks. i'd buy one tomorrow.

I think the 5spd STi RA set can be had for 1200.
