go back to the scene and take pictures of the skid marks. argue that your car has abs, and if you had left those marks there would have been breaks in the skid marks...this is assuming that the guy in front of you did not have abs and left a solid skid mark.

Let me guess.... You got the ticket in Virginia Beach? Im starting to hate the beach more and more each day.

Heres what you can do. You have Three options.

1. Get a good Traffic Lawyer (I know of one, PM me if you want his info) and fight the ticket.

2. Do what JUSTAEX said to do and if your convicted of anything and/or dont like what the Judge gives you. Then go ahead and appeal it and then get a lawyer.

3. Bend over and get the KY ready?

I totally disagree, simply because Ive been to enough traffic court (I'm sure everyone on this forum has) where there's some dude, regardless of age or stature, that is in front of the judge sayin how he wants proof that the gun was calibrated, or that officer is up-to-date in his training, or this or that classic urban legend excuse for getting out.

Judge laughs at him and fines him a gazillion dollars for his 110 in a 55, have a nice day.

Joe Schmoe comes in with the ron-of-the-mill traffic lawyer, whom the judge sees everyday, and says some odd mumbojumbo shit, and the judge drops it to court fees and calls it a day.

If you hired a lawyer, then you care enough abotu the results of the conviction to pay for help....you're going to be a nuisance unless he drops it or REALLY wants to burn you.

That's just my opinion from what I see everytime I step foot in a coutroom.

Im guessing you did not read the part where i said "Dont try and pull stupid technicality tricks, they hear them EVERYDAY and its the last batch of shit they want to deal with " ... in this case, i think a lawyer would be stupid (unless we are not getting all the facts, and they were messin around) ... i had a 5 page driving record at one point and only -4 points , so you can best bet i have seen my fair share of court rooms. Your defense starts when you get pulled over, disrespect him, and lube up. In each of my cases, the officer made the statement of "he was very polite and cooperative" that goes a long way as well ... but merf you are right, if you go in there and try and act like johnny cochran, your only hanging yourself.

study the law you were ticketed on and do your homework. If you do this, it will impress the judge and possibly get the ticket dropped. Bring in proof. Measure the width of the skid marks and compare them to the size of your tires. Go to a remote location and video tape you trying to lock the brakes at the speed you were travelling when the incident happened. Take pictures of the skid marks from your car and show the differences to the judge. Use a standard camera also instead of a digital since you can't modify the pictures from regular film cameras.

The seat belt is going to be a little bit more tough to beat but maybe with you proving yourself as innocent on the skid marks, you might be able to explain to the judge the reason for you removing the seat belt in order to get your wallet from your back pocket. Do you have a pair of jeans or slacks that show wear from the wallet being in the back pocket? If so, bring them in as evidence that you do carry your wallet in your back pocket. This will ad even more doubt into the legitimacy of the tickets.

Hope this info helps.. G'luck
