I'm fired up? okay...

the point why I think wide and skinny tires is stupid is for a couple reasons. One, I think it looks gay, two, it makes the car only go straight. Why take a car like a WS6, that handles very nicely, and completely destroy that feature of the car? I enjoy drag racing, yes. However, WHEN, I decide to modify my car, it'll be all done around three catergories... acceleration, braking and handling. Of course, opinions are like assholes... we all got 'em.

because it was contradictory to what your real opinion is.

I'll tell you why. I wanted to go the handling route. I don't have the money it takes to race my car on a roadcourse. I was reading somewhere that most guys pay ~$300 for one weekend of racing. I could go to the dragstrip and pay $25 and run it all night long. It's in my blood. My dad drag raced and still does occasionally. Trust me I was going to do the same thing you're doing, but I ran my car 5 times down a track and I'm hooked on drag racing now.

Shit happens.

I can always keep my ZR1's. Changing my wheels is nothing more than a jack and impact away.

I hear ya'. Drag racing is MUCH cheaper than road racing. I guess it all depends on what your intention of the car is. Me, for example, could see myself at VIR some day with lowered suspension with all the applicable sub frame connectors and braces, Wilwood brakes, cams, exhaust etc. I'd do it over a course of time and I would still frequent the drag strip. Just because a car can stop and go around a corner, doesn't mean it can't be fast in a straight line either. Look at Cobra4B for example. Of course, this all boils down to ones opinions and its neither right or wrong. I was just giving ya' shit anyways.

ZR1s + your car = damn near sex

another good reason why skinny and wide tires would look dumb in my opinion.

Yeah but putting heavy ass wide wheels on my car with "handing" suspension parts kills the car in the 1/4 mile. Since I'd be doing more 1/4 mile racing than road racing I'm opting to do this. I mean it's not gonna help if I have 17x9.5's in the front, thicker swaybars, lowering springs, etc when I'm trying to go down the 1/4. One dude lost .3 when he lowered his car 1"

I have no problem running skinnies/fatties. They especially look good on a Fox Mustang. Although they do take away from your everyday handling. Personally if I had them they would be drag duty only.

Hell, picked up the DR's last night about 75% life left on them, and the rims had a bald Eagle ZR and a brand new Eagle ZR on there I can sell and make my money back with. These rims are a hell of a lot lighter than the Bullitts.

Yes, the stock ZR-45. But, I was got to thinking, if I used these rims for these DR's for now since my normal tires are still good, and when my normal tires wear out I put DR's on my daily rims, then I can use 1 of these rims I got to use as a full-size spare with the still good Eagle ZR
