Brock, the reason as stated above why we go to the track is to become better and practice. Hell, I remember the most perfect track day you could ask for in June 70 degrees and about 50% humidity, and Brock was saying it was too hot. Then he bitched about us wanting to run at Richmond.
I prefer Richmond for a few reasons, I know everyone that works there, tech there is slack, they let me run in shorts, and they don't make me wear a helmet, plus it's cheaper and closer.
To run at VMP is an extra 45 minutes of my life and extra gas. Also most of the time it seems to be more $. Everyone claims VMP is so great, yet I run slower there than at Richmond. And when I went through tech there, they gave me shit about a loose neg. batt cable. And it wasn't even that loose.
Brock, cold weather has it negatives, it takes a lot more to get the tires heated in March/April, then it does in August due to higher temps.
So, the reason you might have gotten that 2.1 is because it was colder outside and you weren't able to hook as well. If you go on a decent 75-80 degree day with lower humidity, I can guarantee you will run quicker due to the extra traction.
