Default Reckless Driving Law or Typo...

This is kinda stupid question, but read this:

http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...0+cod+46.2-862
§ 46.2-862. Exceeding speed limit.

A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who drives a motor vehicle on the highways in the Commonwealth (i) at a speed of twenty miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit where the applicable speed limit is thirty miles per hour or less, (ii) at a speed of sixty miles per hour or more where the applicable maximum speed limit is thirty-five miles per hour, (iii) at a speed of twenty miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limits where the applicable maximum speed limit is forty miles per hour or more, or (iv) in excess of eighty miles per hour regardless of the applicable maximum speed limit.

(Code 1950, §§ 46-209, 46-209.1; 1950, p. 880; 1952, c. 671; 1954, cc. 225, 401, 458; 1958, c. 541, § 46.1-190; 1960, c. 510; 1964, c. 266; 1966, c. 694; 1968, c. 575; 1970, c. 521; 1974, cc. 222, 455; 1975, c. 633; 1978, c. 27; 1979, c. 86; 1981, cc. 333, 585; 1985, c. 148; 1989, c. 727; 1992, c. 608.)
It seems like to me, after reading that, you can go up to 79mph in a 35mph zone and it wouldn't be considered reckless, unless it was considered wreckless because of a different law; like this one:

§ 46.2-852. Reckless driving; general rule.

Irrespective of the maximum speeds permitted by law, any person who drives a vehicle on any highway recklessly or at a speed or in a manner so as to endanger the life, limb, or property of any person shall be guilty of reckless driving.

(Code 1950, § 46-208; 1958, c. 541, § 46.1-189; 1983, c. 380; 1989, c. 727.)

What do you think?

maybe you missed:

at a speed of sixty miles per hour or more where the applicable maximum speed limit is thirty-five miles per hour

its reckless for 20 over unless the SL is 35 (25 over is reckless) or if the SL is 65,70,75 then 80+is reckless.

Sorry..I misread...

OK, so basically, you can go up to 59mph in a 35 without reckless...lol --so u can go 24mph over...
