I'm all for it... troopers will just get instant on LIDAR or whatever it's called these days. Revenue to radar detector mfgs goes up and revenue to the state goes up via tickets.

Yes, I can tell you that from experience. Also when a radar catches a car going over 10+ it automatically beeps. That's why I set my cruise for 9 over.

The VSP is already buying more and more LIDAR units. At least if radar detectors are illegal it won't be a total waste of our tax dollars (though still something as a waste as they could just start using their radar guns more appropriately).

When a cop is cruising with the radar on, the radar beeps to alert the cop that it's potentially a speeder. This is so a cop doesn't just have to sit there, he or she can just cruise and nab speeders.
