but for real tha 80's 5.0 have decent power and they are cheap...i dont know about reliable but they are a beater.. so it fits your requirements

 

why not? cheap and easy to fix. Why would you want a 13s honda as a beater? It defeats the purpose. The whole point is to get something that you won't fuck with. Soemthing that is cheap to opperate and easy to fix. Not somethign that you wanna modify.

 

don't forget that they get shitty gas milage. They are fairly cheap and easy to work on though.

 

That's what I said, buy a POS, or a luxury car. Doesnt have to be something new or over 5k.. a damn 4 door accord, or a TL for $10k.. You want a hatch for $3k, and you want it to run 13s.. I'm assuming that'll cost another 2500+, then all the other shit, maintaince, etc.. Just get something comfy.

Derrick doesn't want a beater. He wants a back up car that's fun, and somewhat reliable for when his dub is on "down time" or whatever.

I'd just get a 92-95 Civic ex coupe. Dump it and swap it. Might not see 13's, but it'll fun enough as a back up. B series engines are probably going to be getting a little cheaper with the k series starting to show it's potential, so it probably won't cost an arm and a leg to have a fun little car.

 

Take that 200 dollars a month and drop it in a Roth IRA...then when you retire you can just buy a.....say....Ferrari
