don't do a b16a turbo.. because that's what i want to do.

LS turbo, B20 turbo, B18C1 turbo, or you could just get good gas mileage with it being your beater and do a badass suspension setup and have fun in the twisties. Have the GTI for speed, and the hatch for turns. That way you have a little piece of both worlds

oh yea, and if you just have a badass suspension setup on the hatch, you'll still be getting good gasmileage. you could do a simple swap with i/h/e for a little more go and you'll have lots of fun in the twisties
