Default Need help for an officer for titling

hi guys, new here and found out about this place from S2Ki.com

I recently purchased a 2003 s2000 from a guy in evington VA near lynchburg. The vehicle is in storage there and I'm in nyc for work. I had a plan to register the car in Hawaii (where I'm originally from) then drive it cross country when my job is done and ship it.

Problem comes in now... Hawaii sent me a form and I need to make an "imprint" with a pencil on the form of the VIN#. I need an officer to perform this and sign off on it with their badge number and the date.

Are there any officers out there who could help me out? Thanks,

As another option is there a way I can get a set of VA plates with a promise that the vehicle will leave the state in 60 days? If I could do that it would be awesome and save me a ton of headaches.

Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.

does it have to be a cop, what about public notary signature with letter?

i just noticed my grammar goof in the title line, sorry about that.

Thanks for the reply, but if it were an issue of Notary that would be easy, my family is full of attorney's with notary licenses. it needs to be an LEO and the badge number will be placed on the form.

My issue with this whole thing is renting a car and driving 8 hours in each direction for a 2 minute event of scratching a number on some paper and signing it. lol. had I only known about it when I bought the car I would have drove it to the local station and had it done. The plates have been surrendered by the former owner and it is basically stuck in storage unti I get new plates/title in my name and such. Luckily time is on my side since I don't plan on leaving for the west coast until mid to late november.

I guess it won't be too bad to drive there, rent a car rates are pretty cheap nowadays.

The local State Police office can handle the "VIN verification". We do them all the time here in Tidewater, I'm sure they do the same there.
