Default titling a car....

i just bought a 90 da teg from out of state with no title and the guy said he would ship me the title but now he is not answering my calls or returning my messages. i have a notarized bill of sale and all of his info. how can i title the car or go about getting the title?

hmmm...well, personal experiance, with NO bill of sale, with a car that came back as stolen after i did the research...(i recieved in a TRADE, and trusted the sorry sack of shit)....you will have to apply for an abandoned vehicle title. As long as there are no leins, which i believe you would be responsible for paying off before registering the car, it takes 30 days. you send the previous registered owner a letter, saying that the car is on your property, and you intend on registering it. if they do not make arrangements to pick it up, after 30 days, dmv will give you a clean title. I got mine without any fuss. its not hard. i actually have to go through it right now. but thats for a toatlly diffrent reasone, similar to yours. good luck.
