Mechanic Schools
does anyone know of any good mechanic schools in the area? also does anyone know where ManTech is located. i was told its in norfolk but never seen it before. thanks for the help
ATI is an ok school. I go there and I think sometimes Im learning something. But to be truely honest your not gonna get mechanicall experience from a school when you find a mechanical job is where your learning begins. But yeah ATI, check it out
You'll learn a lot at UTI or NTI, but the school is run like shit, and all the teachers bitch about everything.
I took my core classes and got the hell out of there, finishing 5 months at ATI.

i just got accepted to wyotech in pensylvania. they got some tight ass courses its worth checking it out. there is also another campus in wyoming.
you can also take custom body work classes (street rod course)

I have never been to school so I can not comment on it at all. I have been a mechanic for 5 years there about. It is very true that you get all your learning from the feild. School is only good for paperwork. School is only good for getting your ASE's. If your just getting stated get a job as a "shop bitch" tire/lube tech.
TCC also has a auto mechanic program that is taught in part by a former dean of ATI. It's a lot cheaper too. The teachers at TCC have been working/racing cars for decades. If you want to see what it's like PM me.
I'm going to TCC right now. It's pretty good. Definitely a lot cheaper than ATI and Wyotech and some pretty good programs. Take a look at it. You also come out with an associates degree which is cool!

Yea TCC it great i wanted to go to TCC for it but is a lil harder. Cuz you have to take general courses first before doing Automotive. And yea They have that Toyota Program which i really wanted to do and also for the Dodge/Mopar Fanatics. They have a program for that also!
