NASA is a good group, but if you are intersted in track time go with a track school only like MazdaDrivers (which I also instruct with).. you tend to get more track time when you don't have to share it with the racers. However you can't beat the pure fun of a racing event.. Do all of them

I'm only instructing at MazdaDrivers this year (3 events) due to scheduling issues.. so if you are there look me up!

Mazda, Audi Club will give you more track time and less classroom time. They all use the same pool of instructors so that is just luck. Every instructor I have had was good. For the first event I would do a NASA event. The classroom instruction should really help. After that I would just pick and choose for whatever works for you.

None of these are bad. Each is varying degrees of how good they are. You know, the bad day at the track is still better than a good day at work.

BMWcca
Probably the best run and organized of the Marque Club events. Also one of the more expensive usually, but you get what you pay for.
Porschecca
One of the benefits is you can progress onto the PCA club racing series. Expensive since the "P" word is attached.
MAZDA drivers assoc.
Good group, moderate to low price, plenty of track time. I instruct for them, so they have excellent instructors ;-)
NASA
Combined with a race weekend. Prices are low, but you don't get as much track time, but that is not all bad, the weekend is not as rushed, and you get to see some regional professional racing in between your track sessions.
Cornerspeed
No experience.
BSR, inc
Professional school. Bill Scott is an amazing individual, but you may not even see him during a school weekend. They have a complete cross section of options from simple lapping sessions up to very experienced wheel to wheel racing schools. Don't forget their anti-terrorists training, that includes time on the pistol range.
CarGuys
Excellent school. They have been around longer than most. They started out when the popularity of track schools was much less than they are today. They have grown with the popularity of the these type of events. Their prices are a little higher, but again, you get what you pay for. They are probably a little better organized than most.

Thanks everybody for taking the time to reply and share your thoughts. I can't wait to get the EVO out there again. Tomssound and I are going to the Mazda school at VIR at the end of March. He's driving, I'm tagging along and playing pit crew this time around. Looking forward to it. VIR is a great place. I am hoping to get a ride along or two with someone while I'm there.
