Honda / AWD Questions
Just debating with a friend on another forum, two questions:
#1 - Approximately how much HP does it take to get a good driver into the 11's with a gutted hatch?
#2 - How easy or how not easy is it to launch an AWD vehicle?

1) have no idea
2) not really that hard at all. You can't just dump the clutch though. rev it up(between 4k and 5500), start to feather out the clutch and put the go pedal to the floor.

Launching an AWD vehicle is easy, it just takes a bit of practice not to bog off of the line.
IIRC RPRacing got into the 11's in his Integra with ~230 whp, so it should be doable with less in a hatchback.

1) in a street car (ie, heat, sway bars, both seats, street alignment, street suspension, etc.) plan on around 250. I ran 11.907 with a lot done to the car (suspension, tranny, and a lot taken out of the car. YES, i can still street the car if i want, and with my exhaust i have, it will even pass Virginia State inspection with flying colors.
2) listen to the AWD guys about that, i believe its tough to get good 60's out of them, but once they get moving, its all good.

#2. Easy. 6k + clutch dump
It's just as hard/easy as launching a RWD car, it takes some practice and a lot of it has to do with feel.
