CAR THEFT CHALLENGE...
All that said (and thanks for your input) you seem to be focusing on the 10%, not the 90%; meaning the recovery rate of LoJack. Not to mention up to 35% off insurance premiums (for fire, theft and vandalism) and a full refund for the system if your vehicle is not recovered within 24 hours. Personally I think that's pretty convincing and worth the investment if I owned a vehicle that's a likely target. It would be a breath of fresh air to see instead of a post where someone's "ride got jacked last night"; a "cops found my ride and thieves got caught" thread.
As far as your last sentence, I haven't seen any documentation that supports your "bet". If I had to guess I'd say most thefts are "joyrides", but I'm only speculating.
I have a garage and I don't park my car in it?
I have said it before though... I have good insurance that I pay enough for every month.
Anyways, good post. I get sick of the stolen car threads. I am sure it sucks, but whatever.

It's funny because in every stolen thread, the question "what kind of security" is asked and the OP either dodges the question or answers with some run of the mill DEI alarm which we all know does nothing.
I'll say this over and over again but my $400 DEI alarm with shock sensor/proxy sensor /ignition cut off and backup battery did NOTHING at HIN. Only thing that stopped them was a $50 Autolock.
Wish EEK had one.

Half of MD is low jack dead zone, thats why all the cars end up there.
the best thing would be a GPS on the car thats built in. or have a childs GPS stashed somewhere. but there are also dead zones for GPS.
in the end. its a no win situation
