The only vette "sleeper" would be one that looked close to stock but then could run like a 8.

No.... that is not a sleeper.... that is a very very fast Corvette.

 

Dunno...........some older 200hp vettes aren't very fast. Not all vettes are that fast.....but then again, fast is a relative term.

 

I think you could consider one a sleeper, if a c5 regular corvette rolled up to a new viper, and the c5 smoked him, I would say it was a sleeper. The difference is, how modified do corvette exteriors get? It would have to be stock body, wheels, and exhaust.

 

ha, making a vette a sleeper would be taking a vette like brians, badging it up to look like it wasn't a z06, and then ricing it out... no one would expect for it to actually have some balls to it

 

I don't think a vette can be a sleeper b/c if it's got heads/cam/nitrious then it's gonna have the exhaust to back it up and you can pretty much tell what an LSX car gonna do when it's loping at idle. The only way around that would be turboed or have cutouts.

True true... a beat up C4 could be a sleeper for sure. However if it was 1985 it couldn't.

if you get a young kid who doesnt know then yes. say you had a 03 Z06 took the badges off and put Zr1 wheels on it. if noone knows what to look for then yeah it could be

 

You're not getting it... even a base bone stock C5 is an assumed quick car. So by being a Corvette it cannot be a sleeper. Even a bone stock C5 can run high 12's w/ the right driver. It doesn't have to be a Z06 to be fast.
