I hear they are very reliable as long as you keep up with the maintenance. I'm probably going to sell my rsx and pick up a 540i when I get it paid down a little more

bull honky! when u have a smashed front end... lol. Parts are exp if you start to grow engine problems. Or if carter runs over something in the middle of the road and punctures your gas tank along with fucking up some fuel lines...

I can not speak of a 92. I have a 99 only problems I have had have all been self-induced. The rear ends have a problem with breaking the front bolt in them when you get into high horsepower or hard driving ie track events, etc...... The E36's in my opinion pretty strong. As far as having a cool sig I guess maybe if you drive a stock car that you think is cool then go ahead with your bad self......I have not really found parts to be to much more then any other car. If you have it serviced by BMW it will cost you alot. My buddy is an ASE mech and loves working on them. We just did my headgasket at his shop a couple of months ago. You might wanna check out the website of DTMPOWER.NET or BIMMERFORUMS.COM both have several informative forums with lots of info.
