as for restoring it, it needs a new trunk since that one is rusted through, front bumper too. as for the rest of the car you might be able to save it if you wanted, barring the underside of the car being structurally unsafe
According to what I read on Wikipedia its going to be right on the line of being carbureted (22R) and fuel injected (22R-E). If it's fuel injected I would probably pull the engine and trans before it is scrapped since I assume things could be used in the trucks and 4 runners.

Like I said earlier I really don't know much about the car and I have not looked under it either. I'm not even sure if I will get the car at this point, still trying to sort out a title.

I'd wager there's nothing left of that other than rust. They weren't exactly rock solid cars to start with, growing up my neighbor had a 4th gen and the hatch would pop open everytime you drove over the railroad tracks

If you want one, you can probably find one for a little more cash that's in a lot better shape. You'll spend far more than the price difference just to make it road worthy. It's a pile, and they're not rare enough to make it worthwhile to fix one that's so far gone.

22Rs are a dime a dozen, carbed version is just as good, if not better than EFI. Some came with twin carb's and even stock turbo(85 I believe). Regardless, it's all scrap. With that hatch so rusted, I'm sure your floor pans and all that are swiss cheese already.

I don't want on eat all...it's a family deal...if they can get me a title I am going to get rid of it one way or another, I have not desire to drive it on the road, or in the grass for that matter.

I'm thinking if I get the car then I will probably pull the engine and trans and then send the rest down the road.
