Is this 3rd gen Toyota Celica worth more than scrap metal?
I may be acquiring a third generation Toyota Celica. I don't know anything about them other than what I have read online. This car is not in great shape, but I was told that it was parked because the alternator failed....that was about 10 years ago. I don't have a ton of details on the car yet, but I do know it has either a 22R or 22R-E engine depending on what year the car is, it has a manual transmission, it is the "GT" trim. I know the old lift back corollas are sought after, but what about the Celica? I cannot find many for sale so it's hard to figure out how much the car might be worth. Any insight is appreciated.

yeah I know, but I am not really into these cars. In order to have fun with it I would need to get it running and put some tires and tags on it...I don't like it that much. If I get the car I am only interested in seeing if I can get a few bucks for it, I am just trying to figure out if there is a market for these other than the scrap yard.

I have found a few Celica forums through google, but anything this old is not very active, that's why I am having a hard time trying to figure out what this one may be worth. I was hoping someone would tell me how rare and collectable they are...I guess that's not happening

if its a 22-re alot of tacoma owners will swap those. they hold up to boost pretty well iirc.
as for restoring it, it needs a new trunk since that one is rusted through, front bumper too. as for the rest of the car you might be able to save it if you wanted, barring the underside of the car being structurally unsafe
