Out of state tags and VA laws

are u military? if so, take ur papers to court along with your registration, etc and the judge shoudl dismiss your ticket. that is what usually happnes, unless you get a terrible judge. unless of course the ticket was for liek a noisy ass muffler or soemthign that distrubs the peace, but if it was bs liek ur tires are too big, they usually will dismiss it. one thing thgohu,my firned has the ultra blue (or whatever tyhey are called) headlamps that are illegal here and she has gotten ticketed leik 4 times nowe for them and has not gotten out of anyof them b/c the judges say that you can switch the lights out....... so it depends on your circumstance usually.....
with VA being a commonwealth, basically we dont have to follow some federal laws if our state govt does not approve them...or that is my understandign of it...........

No, we aren't the only commonwealth. Kentucky and Mass. are the only other ones. It mainly has to things to do with our finances and taxes that the state does. Beyond that I couldn't tell you. But yeah, it does suck being a commonwealth.
