Confirm : Small Ground Tremors Hampton area?
I noticed this as well this afternoon, and I am very close to the mouth of the Warwick River. From what I could guess, it was either something on a range at Ft. Eustis, (approximately 2 miles as the crow flies), or it could have been one of the civilian aircraft from PHF on maneuvers in the bay. I would venture to say that it was a sonic boom based on the way it rumbled on instead of a short report.
I live in Hampton and didn't hear/feel a thing. Im guessing it was sonic booms out over the bay. I believe I read somewhere that sonic booms can be heard/felt a good distance from the source.
this raises the question, what airplanes are curenttly at the basei thought the f-15s were deployed although im not sure about the f22s. Also i have never felt a sonic boom were i live, i still find it hard to bealive the would be doing sonic passes so close to residential areas.
