anybody know why?

with that in mind, do you think he is competent enough to put together a junkyard turbo kit? and if he did, not blow his motor?

You need a cold air intake, sucking in that warm air is worse than the stock air filter. Look into getting a new chip for your car, a quality one not some cheap one. Even then youll only see a difference on the highway. Regular street driving youll loose the milage. Learned that with my 325is
On my car making a heat shield was cheap and easy so def look into it. I got my Dinan chip off of ebay for about 100. After installing the chip I wouldve easily paid the 250 full price

getting a chip (if available) is only worth tying-up all of the other mods that were already in-place. it's worthless to chip a car if you're going to eventually do the 'other' mods.

I got this information from a book:How To Build Honda Horsepower by Richard Holdener, they are comparing a CAI vs short ram dyno graphs on the same engine.
The CAI produced more power before vtec (like someone here said) more torque due to the lenght of the tube. But the short ram produced more power up on the rpm range. They said power is reduced about 1hp for a 10degree difference. They also tested the car (92 civic si) for top speed, cai=121, short ram=119, stock airbox 117. They took temp. readings during the top speed test and it was 25degrees hotter with the short ram than it was with the CAI. So real world the CAI is better. But they have a solution to have the best of both worlds and this is what I recommend to the accord guy: build a box to enclose the air filter to provide a cold air source. Thats why the AEM v2 is so awesome it takes air from outside and it has a huge diameter then it reduces diameter to act like a short ram.
This is an awesome book and I recommend to to everyone, even if you dont have a honda the information is useful and applicable to any engine.
But then again, like it was already said, colder air=more oxygen=more fuel. So I guess Im not helping you there.

PS-so what if its an accord...thats like saying hey its only a 70 bug...that can do the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds and is still a daily beater. The platform doesnt matter these days with the way car manufacturers make the engines swappable between chassis(especially Honda).

if you dont know shit about the car dont say anything just because its cheaper and easier to make a civic go fast doesnt mean shit. anyone can go buy a busted ass car and throw an engine in whoopdy fucking do, why dont you try something a lil more challenging, swap the h22 for an easy way to get the most power, or reasearch the h23 f20b h23/h22
