You said a big block and then an LT1???

I would say LS1 or 383 if it was mine and I did not go with a big block.

Also, as someone said, take your time. Its going to take lots of patience and $$, especially if you're going big block. I'd say make a nice stroker mouse, and she'll be great. But to be honest, that car looks like it could easily swallow 20g's if you want to do it even half way properly.

Well we have a budget of 50k. We're in no rush to get things done. We rather do it right then have a half ass car. Its not to common to come across one in this good of shape as well as having such low original miles on it.

one thing to consider is to have to body professionally done. more often then not its sometimes cheaper to have a shop blast the car do the body and paint versus having multiple shops give you a walk in price.

duane has already introduced himself on this thread but i recommend his shop for a build of this nature.

hes got alot of pretty good accounts with local vendors in the area. ive seen him do everything from lowriders to street rod..... some really nice impalas.

anyways maybe hell chime in again and give you some insight.

good luck and keep this thread going. a little schooling on this sight is always appreciated especially doing a build of this nature with all p's and q's addressed.
