Were you chased by a state man on Hardy rd on Friday?

It really is hard to see how it all went down. I do agree that it would be hilarious to see that cop floppin his car around all out of control.
Unfortunately, that's common.
Do any of you remember the Z28 that evaded the 3-4 police cars from Walgreens on Williamson onto Hershberger going towards Plantation? That was a friend of mine.. This happened years ago, for those of you who don't remember. He was driving his girlfriends Z28 and decided to smoke the road out in front of Walgreens. Guess he didn't see the police car 2-3 cars back.. Lights and siren came on, he takes off down Hershberger. By the time we head that way to see if he got away or not, there were like 3 cruisers wrecked and IIRC one was smoking in a field at the end of the road. lol.. He easily out maneuvered them and would not have been caught had he not gone DOWNTOWN an hour or two later to pick his girlfriend up at the strip club.. LOL! That always cracked me up. Do they not give any sort of performance driving instruction/training in the academy? I know things are much different with adrenaline, but there are more instances than that which come to mind displaying poor driving skill and what seems to be a lack of training.

Like mentioned, you really can't tell from the situation, but normally if you rear-end someone who had to slam on their brakes - you will get a ticket for following too closely. Granted, the cop shouldn't have been as careless as he was, but he still needed to do something to try and catch up with the speeding car. That car was going way too fast, and could have easily killed someone at ~75mph if they were to get into an accident from careless driving.

Maybe I didnt make it clear in my original post. The cop blew a boot leg (you know the 180 deg E brake "spin") and he ended up facing oncoming traffic in the WRONG lane instead of the lane we wanted that goes the other way. To 100% clarify what happened the event basically went like this:
Following stater trooper on a two lane rd @ 35mph with PLENTY of distance.
Car blows pas the cop at possibly double the posted speed limit.
Cop whips the cruiser around and gets rear tires in the gravel along side the road while at the same time going WOT.
This manuever causes the cruiser to fish tail beyond the cops ability to recover.
He doesnt lift off the throttle quickly enough.
During all the above traffic has slowed from 35mph to ~20mph but not stopped (yet).
Cop realizes hes now approaching on coming traffic in THEIR lane and lifts off the throttle and stands on the brakes.
At the same time the lead car (my wife) sees a state cop come at her head on in HER lane and stomps the brakes at 15-20mph.
Wife leaves ~12" long light skid marks (shes stopping a full size ext cab long bed 4wd chevy truck....they dont stop immediately considering we're talking almost 5000lbs here).
Cop throws the cruiser in reverse since my wife is stopped right in front of him and there are 2 cars stopped behind her which has her trapped.
Red probe is LONG gone and if he/she was smart has turned off of hardy rd.
BTW, as much as we car guys ALL give females a hard time about lack of driving ability (generally speaking) make no mistake about it my wife is a pretty good wheel person. Hell, I met her at Mooresville drag way where she was running 6.6X's in a grand national SHE built.
Cops aren't going to give a shit if you call them.
Point is the cop fucked up and needs to use better judgement if cruiser/car handling skills are not his strong point and I fully plan on letting him know that. If you cant drive and want to pull manuevers that are above your skill level then at least use those things the factory hangs off the car in several places to make sure youre not going to take anyone else out....those are call mirrors BTW.
See now that makes a lot more sense to me. I was seein the situation as happening a bit differently. Yes, the officer should be talked to about his inability to control a 180. If you can't pull it off, don't do it.
