Im ASE certified but I dont go around bragging about it on forums... how do you work on cars 12 hours a day when you've been posting on here the past 3 or 4 hours? its called multi tasking man. you should try it sometime. generally, between answering the phone, ordering parts, writing estimates, diagnosing cars, and dealing with customers, i am at my computer for a decent amount of time during the day doing work, so i do that whole ALT+TAB deal and switch between windows. it makes my day when someone gets all butthurt over a mild comment that wasnt even directed toward them

i totally agree with you on some certified techs give a bad name, but that patch means alot to some customers. i have several that come to my shop cause they know me and my techs are good, if not the best in our county.

you may want to ask around before knocking what an L1 means. L1 is the next step up over being a Master tech. its Advanced Engine Performance.

actually, no. i do still do oil changes when needed, but i mostly do electrical and driveability diagnostics when i am not doing the management shit.


you didnt look at the exhaust apparently. if you have ever worked on or tuned a WRX, you will know what i am talking about (the downpipe on them stock is the main restriction, and having a catalyst in the uppipe is the immediate death to the stock turbo over stock boost levels.)

 

That may be how it looked to the uneducated eye. Truth is you can't run 7's on the stock turbo. Period. Best I've seen is mid 8's. And I've only seen that a time or two, and both were on race gas. Most stock turbo WRX's run high 8's/low 9's. To run a larger turbo, you need an upgraded fuel system, and to run an upgraded fuel system, you need new engine management. To cool the charge from a larger turbo you need a bigger intercooler. To free up the exhaust you need to replace the uppipe and downpipe. You can't see any of that from outside the car.

Modifying WRX's is expensive. Ask me how I know...

 

like i said before, i dont care what it is, if its done clean, and done right, i have respect. i have briefly talked to ya'll a time or two when i was at the bridge (its been a year and half since i have been last...damn busy at the shop and on the house) but both of ya are nice and not cocky, unlike most of the dicks at NB.
