Virginia didn't think I was reckless... And yes I could have killed someone and my passenger. I have learned my lesson about going to fast and hitting a bridge. But anyone who gets behind the wheel can kill someone else, including you, whether you have wrecked or not. But drinking while driving is like tripling the chance. Get you story straight before you start talking...

DEATH TO THOSE WHO DRINK AND DRIVE
DEATH TO THOSE WHO DRINK AND DRIVE
Exactly, I have drank and drove once, but near my house, and when I was 16. I learned my lesson real fast when a friend was killed doing the same, and another friend got caught. Never have done it again and never will. And if someone does do that and kills someone I love, you don't even want to know what the fuck I would do.
In this area a lot of people get off on DUI's. Last time I was in court there where about 8 DUI cases and not one got a day in jail. Most would get a 60 day suspended sentences and a $500 fine, if that. They also received a 6 month suspended license.
Now in NOVA it is a differnet story. Of the 10+ people I know that have gotten DUI's everyone has spent atleast a day in jail. The most one has spent in jail was 0ne year for his third DUI. But on average they got 3-5 days for their first offense.

I was just saying dont get that I am holier than thou attitude when everyone including you and myself have done some stupid shit. Whether that be driving stupid in the rain or the wreckless driving ticket I got for speeding. Just like you said, we learn from those experiences and mistakes. Im sure this guy is learning from his.
I dont think he should get off scott free but countinually raging on him with a +1 everytime someone posts something makes you look like a jackass.
Being in college I know plenty of dumbasses who have gotten DUI's, my cousin is an officer who got broadsided by a drunk hes got twins and now has a fucked up back.
I have driven before when I probably shouldnt have, its not something I am proud of, nor have I done it in the past few years. Its just not worth it.

Whether you believe I look like a jackass or not for doing this (+1
) does not change my attitude towards drunk drivers. So, in conclusion, I hope he rots in hell. Most of the time, if you do it once and don't get caught, you'll do it again. And again. And again. Until you kill some kids.

I have no sympathy for drunk drivers.
A few years ago I had a close friend of mine killed by a drunk driver...and the drunk driver is still alive and never went to jail. I've gone as far as called the police on acquaintences if they're acting stupid and drinking and driving (happened about 2-3 weeks ago). Have I ever driven drunk? Unfortunately I did once, that is the ONLY thing I ever regret in my life. I know what my limits are and I stick to them.
So I'll say this, if you think you can get off, good luck. If I were the judge, I'd throw the maximum sentence to EVERY DUI case that comes into my court.

I have no sympathy for drunk drivers either. It actually pisses me off to see someone go to jail for speeding (i know I know it's still wrong) and then see a DUI get off with a smack on the wrist.
