Default Local Turbo Shop/Balancing

Alright,

My turbo is still leaking oil on the turbine side.. I am going to disassemble it soon, I ordered a stagger gap piston ring which will hopefully solve the problem, if everything else checks out ok..

If the piston ring groove is enlarged/worn for some reason, or I find out something else is wrong, I'm just gonna buy a new turbine shaft, and if I have to do that, I was wondering if there is anyone local that balances turbo assemblys..

I'm sure some machine shops do this, but I dont know of any places.

Thanks

My turbo is showing signs of light leakage too.

I might be absolutely crazy, but I would imagine you're in a situation like me where it would probably be cheaper to replace than it would be to repair. However, if you're set on having it repaired, I heard stories back in the day about that diesel truck place on Thirlane doing turbo rebuilds. I don't know if that's a myth or not though.

...btw, I think for me this is just more reason to go bigger. I wish I'd never sold the last one.

The rebuild will likely cost you a few hundred bucks, as others mentioned it may be better to just buy another turbo.

metro heavy duty, just off orange ave, like diagonally behind the exxon, across the street from southern classic car wash. Don't take this as a recommendation though, they pitched a fucking fit every time I brought a turbo by there to be balanced because it wasn't off a diesel...honestly I don't think turbos need to be re-balanced unless there was damage to one of the wheels...
