Why do you think domestics dont/wont run heads up? There arent any classes for them to run heads up, which makes it kinda hard? How about try a domestic shootout, put the word out and see what kind of turnout that brings. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against imports, but watching bunch of 8-10 sec import cars sucks the gay right out of Elton John's ass..

I think you missed my point.. "dont bite the hand that feeds you"
sounds like truth.

if a 8.20 beat a mustang spraying and slicked up ls1, someone just can't drive.

With what rules? Are you implying there aren't fast imports in this area, or not at all?

Most of the fastest imports around here do not head out to NB and NL, not even Shelor. I know of 3 or 4 right off the top of my head in my area that would have been going head to head for the top spot. Go to a street car quick 8 at a nice track. Bristol, Richmond, or Rockingham. Then laugh at the import's times.

I hate seeing slow ass cars. But I also hate seeing 10 loud ass half moving old cars go down the track. I'm biased in either direction. I want all cars to be different and fast.

Not to start anything, but even the new drag classes with mixed domestics and imports isn't a clear domestic win. NDRA Pro RWD was won by a Supra over 3-4 Turbo foxbodies.

Yea but if you arent running electronics then basically it comes down to having a fast consistant car , if everybody concentrates their efforts on that week after week and then you get 10 people that are competing and running within a 10th of each other then that will make for some good heads up racing .......sure someones probably going to have an advantage for the first month , but after everybody gets their stuff together then it comes down to traction and driver error .....

I plan to set up a domestic street car quick 8 when it fits into our schedule. And eventually do a Domestic vs Import race. I've kicked around a set of rules for a true street car heads up class, but it's difficult to level the playing field for everyone. I'd like to see a class where a $5000 mustang or civic can be competitive with the "street" cars that have 20k+ in them.

By the way, there is a heads up class for domestic cars called King of the Streets, 2 cars showed up for it last weekend... Elk Creek has a heads up class (Diesel Up) as well that typically brings in about 5 cars per race. So please tell me where all these domestics are that are just dying to race heads up because we are all trying to get them to come out.

Marshall

if you break it up in different indexes more people will show up , nobody with a 7.50-6.50 car is going to show up to run a heads up competition when they know 3 guys there have cars running 6.0 and faster ......whats the point , whats in the incentive ....

take a poll on here and on horsepowerjunkies , with different time indexes and see how many people say they will show up to run in them

Good idea, there is also a thread over at the king of the streets forum about this. www.king-of-the-streets.org
