He simply stated watching the same cars bracket race every week gets boring.. and it's true.

IMO Bracket racing is extremely boring.

Why do you seem to think he doesn't want to run bracket races anymore is beyond me. I know they bring in money. Although, probably not as much as you'd expect, there are a lot more costs involved with a bracket race. I also know the quick 8 was kinda last min, and it's true there weren't a whole bunch of fast cars out, but we all know there are PLENTY of quick/fast imports around.

If you want a import vs. domestic go to King of the Streets.

Why are you so offended?
Im not offended, nor do I have anything against imports. My point was "dont bite the hand the feeds you" by talking bad about domestics.

Im serious how bout a domestic shootout, no need to be one-sided right?

Yea if they'll have one I'll be there, not in my own car though. I'll have a couple people with me with some cars that run decent.

yea i didnt see anyone downing domestics...on sundays up there they bring in more money for 1 reason more ppl have bracket cars. and 2- it costs more to get in. like 20 to spectate or somthing. and i mean yea 8.20 isnt super fast but it was fast enough to beat a blown mach1 mustang. and a fox body with nitrous. and an ls1 on full slicks....so it musta been doin somthing right

Why do you think domestics dont/wont run heads up? There arent any classes for them to run heads up, which makes it kinda hard? How about try a domestic shootout, put the word out and see what kind of turnout that brings. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against imports, but watching bunch of 8-10 sec import cars sucks the gay right out of Elton John's ass..

I think you missed my point.. "dont bite the hand that feeds you"
Damn Josh, way to be dramatic. In my previous post about watching the same cars race I only meant that I like to see new events and new cars coming out to the track.

I plan to set up a domestic street car quick 8 when it fits into our schedule. And eventually do a Domestic vs Import race. I've kicked around a set of rules for a true street car heads up class, but it's difficult to level the playing field for everyone. I'd like to see a class where a $5000 mustang or civic can be competitive with the "street" cars that have 20k+ in them.

By the way, there is a heads up class for domestic cars called King of the Streets, 2 cars showed up for it last weekend... Elk Creek has a heads up class (Diesel Up) as well that typically brings in about 5 cars per race. So please tell me where all these domestics are that are just dying to race heads up because we are all trying to get them to come out.

you need to make a couple classes and have ET indexs , 7.50s , 8.00s , 8.50s , and so on , screw the import domestic BS , just have a set of rules set of , 8.0 and slower cars must run drag radials , no ET streets , no slicks , etc , 7.50 index cars run ET streets but no slicks and have it heads up like that , and if a 7.50 car runs a 7.49 , you break out and go home .....and run it like that , thats how Fun Ford runs about half there classes and it works out good ........just my 2 cents on it ......

Waiting around for 8.2 and slower cars to finish a run is a fuckin thrill ride though... Disney World's making a new simulator ride out of that shit for 2008.

I think that was qwkcoupe's point... more people have the "chevelles/novas"... which marshall stated watching the 8.2 and slower imports was "better than" watching those chevelles/novas... and as you mentioned, it costs more to get in. More people x More money = More profit. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."

That is the easiest way to do it for sure, but when you start putting an index on a class it might as well be bracket racing IMO. There is no incentive to run faster, only to run a consistent 7.50, 8.00, or 8.50...
