what all do i need to get into this stuff?
Short on cash? I'd recommend autocrossing instead of road course driving. Entry fees are $25 instead of $250, and you'll use less tires/brakes/gas.

There's an autocross within 90 minutes of Williamsburg almost every weekend between March and November.

Good luck-

The way things have worked the past few years, there are at least 2-3 events each month from November to March as well. Autocross in this area is a year round sport. It is colder at events in the winter, but you can still turn rubber into dust. Next one is February 13th at Pungo in Virginia Beach.
