Unfortunately, I don't have 'sufficient roll over protection'... ie: 'roll down the mountain protection'..... sounds really fun though!!!

If you don't know your limits, then you should probably not run. Crashing doesn't do anyone any good, especially the car.....

Guess I just got spoiled doing so many events at VIR

I've actually driven that mountain really hard in the rain during a road rally last year. I saw 1 flipped over car and another accident. Gets REALLY hairy up there when it rains. I'd do it if my car had roll bars but trying to fabricate that into my car would be just ridiculously hard.

Do you think you'll try?

No, I will not. I have been asked to crew for a Bush car at VIR over that weekend, vintage races. And my limits don't include hillclimbs. Open track, Solo II, skydiving, spelunking, white water rafting,,yes. but never wheel-to-wheel or hill climbs...yet....

Rick,
Well, I guess a picture (or video) is worth a thousand words. That really shows what I'm talking about. Since this is a drag race forum, I guess you could say, it's just a drag race with a few curves thrown in to make it interesting. I mean, you're just trying to set the lowest ET, after all.

We're leaving for The Shoe tommorrow. I'll post a report and photos when I get back Tuesday. This is such a great location, I thought I'd make it a vacation. I've finally hit a sweet spot with the setup on the old Caldwell, so we should bring home some $$. The Resort and sponsor Bud have put up a $5000 purse with $1000 for "king of the mountain". I always feel like autocrossers have a big advantage at a new hillclimb, because we can usually figure a course out quicker. I mean it's what we do.
