Now lets just look at a Street tire VS a Race tire. A good street tire should give good straight line and cornering traction for the conditions, ie surface, weather, temp.... And the tire is designed to give a little as well, so that when these contitions are not perfect the car wont loose all grip and go sliding out of control. And I dont just mean when its icy or raining, but also when the tire is pushed to the edge or past its limits. A Race tire give optimum traction in its given optimum contitions, thats why there are differant compounds, and even specific rain, snow, and mud tires. And because these tires are so condition specific, when they are pushed past there limits they simply give way, meaning you end up looking in the wrong direction...

Now what this means is that when in a HPDE, AutoX, or SoloI condition if in a "Street tire" class or on a ST budget you want a tire that gives as many charateristics to the Race tire as you can get. You may inturn give up ride comfort, and the tire maybe louder, but is a competition setting those are things I can live with. Thus Pirellie is not on the same level as the Kumho or Falken right now they are geared for passanger cars.

As far as the "Azenis" it is the origional RT-215 that people are talking about. Falken changed the advertising last year are started calling just about there whole line of tires Azenis. Its somewhat like the brand ID of Advan, for Yokohama.

GNU. Yeah your brother called me to tell me about it last week and then he called me Friday and said its yours. Good deal congrats on the new ride and welcome to the dark side!!!!

haha thanx, just bought a front lip off ebay last night, and im trying to get some slipstreams wraped in azenis for my autox tires, and then im gonna work on suspension.

You can pick up a set of the new Azenis RT-615 in the same size for 102 each. That tire will ream a pzero's asshole.

My e36 had Pzero's, and I thought that they were ok. I drove in IAmCman's miata with azenis (and a very agressive alignment) and it felt great. It wasn't even warm out side and they felt nice and sticky. I think I'm definitely going to be going w/ Azenis OR es100's.

Not to be an ass but what the hell dose what car someone drives mater when picking a better tire. Every car has 4 things that touch the ground and make it go and turn. A better tire is a better tire. It is well documented that there is not a better tire than the Kumho MX, or Falken RT-215. Many national championships have been won on these tires. And at the national level people travel hundreds if not a thousand plus miles to compete, so I'm sure they would have the best tire they could have no matter what the cost.

The origional poster has said he wants to AutoX and there is not one Perelli, Bridgestone, Goodyear, (BFG KD is very very close) Nitto, Firestone, or currently available Yokohama tire that can touch these two.

If anyone has any Autox experiance not street experiance that notes other wise I'd like to know.

This is funny!!!!

Do you want a hard tire???? They will not even come close!!! Softer tires grip better. If they wear out thats the price you pay to compete.
