You do not need a kill switch. Battery must be firmly mounted with a metal bracket (no zip-ties, bungees, etc.)

Is there a pre-run class on how you guys run the event, specifics on the track, cone meanings, etc? I'm not trying to annoy the shit out of people asking dumb questions. I'm cool with asking for tips, but don't want to be in the way.
The schedule is on the info/pre-reg page, specifically:
9:00am gates open
10:00am reg & tech open
10:45am course walk
11:15am drivers meeting
12:00pm FIRST TIMER FREEBIE RUNS
Arrive early, drive into the facility, turn right at the end of the fence, find a spot in the paddock, unload your car, then be in line for registration @ 10am (at a table by the track office building, you would've driven right by it to get into the paddock.) Tech is usually "roving" i.e. the inspectors find your car instead of having you go to a specific location. Stay near your car once you have registered so when the inspectors come through, things go smoothly.
Go walk the course at 10:45 (listen for announcements on the bullhorn that it's open for walking.) Try to walk it with someone experienced. Ask them questions. Walk it twice if you can. Then most everything else will be covered at the drivers meeting. That's also the time to ask any remaining questions you have.
In the meantime you can also get some answers by reading the NASA-X national rulebook and regional rules supplement, linked from the "Resources" section toward the bottom of the page at http://www.nasaracing.net/autox.htm
And you can see sample Langley course designs here:

As well as on Youtube, etc.
It's never the same from one event to the next, other than using the oval and the infield combined. Sometimes it's clockwise, sometimes it's counterclockwise.
Hope it helps,
Jon
We're only set up for cars and some 2wd trucks. It's an insurance / liability thing. Especially at Langley, with the walls everywhere...
