Default turbo oil leak?

i just upgraded my turbo from stock to a 20g. i got everything hooked up but im leaking a good bit of oil. i had to make a oil return line for it because the stock one didnt fit on the turbo manifold. it is part of the stock metal pipe into a rubber hose into a smaller metal pipe into the oil pan (i had to cut one off of a VW from the junk yard, thats the only flange that fit but the pipe a good 3/8 inch smaller).
could the oil be backing up from the oil pan and flooding the turbo causing it to leak? i havnt had a chance to put it up on the lift yet to check it out but does anyone have any ideas on what to look for? besides all the smart asses that are gonna say look at where the oil is coming out
also i had to make another fitting going to the turbo from the oil line and the stock one had a little hole in it and the new one is bigger, could there be too much oil flow going to it? these are my best guesses but its all i could come up with. i need all the help i can get!

Put it on the lift, see where it's coming from. Speculation isn't going to get you very far and it will be easy to visually see where it's coming from.

Depending on whats actually going on you could either blow out the seals or starve the turbo of oil causing damage
