ok dude, intake manifold goes to the intercooler, and the filter you see is from the ambient air on the turbo

if i was air this is how i would make it in your engine to be used. there is a impeler (allot like a perpeler) if i even spelled that right, in your turbo two of them one for intake air and the other for exhaust. now air is sucked in through your filter by your turbo intake manifold. which houses your intake impeler. your intake impeler is turned by escaping exhaust fumes exiting your turbo exhaust housing. which if you remember is housing a exhaust impeler. the fumes turn the impeler which causes the intake side of your turbo to suck in air. this compressed air is then sent from your turbo to your intercooler via tubing, than from your intercooler to your intake manifold also via tubing... if you follow the picture using my explanation it would help. really simple dont nuke it. its just compressed cold air.
