Default turbo?

i own a 94 toyota pickup and interested in boosting my truck. im tired of my friends saying howmy truck is slow and i want to show them up. i did a little bit of research and i think that i am going to stick with a t3/t4 but i dont know how to make a manifold or how to install it. I just recently bought a brand new 22re engine with 0 miles on it and ive only put about 1000 miles on it so far. Is there anybody that has any pointers or tips on how to do this?

thanks in advance
ps ive seen this engine boosted before, so i know its boost friendly.

If you have no welding expirence. makign your own manifold is not a good idea. You can try Altered Atmsphere in Md and take they your stocker and they'll make you a manifold.

Seriously though turbo mans should be tig welded. Well planned and generally require a mandrel bend machine.

well, im still looking for a manifold, but im starting to think... do i need forged internals now that im running boost, or can i just use the fresh internals? Also, i dont mean to sound stupid, but is a t3/t4 turbo legal? i mean does it pass smog and everything. hehe sorry im only 16.

you need to decide what will you use for fuel management/tuning. also upgrade your clutch to hold the added power. stock internals should be fine with low boost but research as much as you can as to what they can hold. and then i would try homemadeturbo.com with specific questions.
