transaxle clutch switch
does anyone know what this is? i checked the diagnostics of my car when the check engine light came on, and when i read the codes it said faulty transaxle clutch switch. i asked the people at advanced auto, and they didn't even know what that was, let alone how to fix the problem. is there another name for the transaxle clutch switch? because it mentioned it in the diagnostics section, but i can't find it anywhere else in my hanes manual, so i can't fix the problem.

the other codes were 39 and 13, forgot to include those.
my mistake, 39 was the one i was talking about, but yeah i replaced the idle air control valve three days ago. unfortunately it still idles wrong, moslty when i have the car in neutral, so i'm not sure if maybe the clutch switch has something to do with it.

generally no....the clutch switch input is *usually* used to command the SC servo. idle issues....its a GM so there can be countless things that could be wrong....
13 is an O2 code....

i've changed the o2 sensor also, i'm going to autozone tomorrow to have them clear the codes and then do an additional reading to see if the problems were fixed or not. yea it's true from what i've read gm has been notorious (sp?) for idle issues, hopefully this will be resolved soon.
thanks for your help, i appreciate it

you can clear the codes on that system by removing the battery cable...but i like to do it with a scanner myself.
keep in mind when you reset the ECM, it will more then likely stall a few times untill it relearns its adaptive idle parameters.
