a lot of rx7's FD's are running stock mounts or the new thing is "V" mounts the reason why is you have a RADIATOR to think about. A lot of people don't consider how much you are blocking the flow of air to the radiator in a Rotary.

there have been many stories of people Warping their hoods that autox fd's.

If your miata has sufficient area for an intercooler and air can get to the radiator go for it. if you are thinking of blocking off the whole radiator you may want to think twice.

I have seen a few miatas with front mounts and when done correctly they never seem to block the flow of air to the radiator

it would most likely block most of the radiator air flow, yea.

don't think just b/c its a top mount it will be less efficient, look at pressure drop, air flow, fitmit, there's a lot to consider

that was pretty good. where can i find specs for different intercoolers. i tried searching but couldnt really come up with anything. how would i find out about different intercoolers pressure drop and such. i dont exactly have the rescources to test em.

How much boost are you going to be running? If it's low enough you might not even need an intercooler.
