do superchargers use blow off valves? i know the theory but i ONLY know turbo setups.

no i havnt seen any superchargers with blow off

My procharger uses one, So do vortechs.. Jackson Racing SC's dont. Depends on the style charger. And yes on a procharger and vortech, you need it.

centrifugal blowers do..... prochargers and vortechs.....

As a general rule of thumb, as long as the supercharger is before the throttle body, not after, then there will be some sort of BOV or bypass valve. Forcing air against a closed throttle really isn't a good idea if you have any mechanical sympathy for your turbo or supercharger, the forces are huge.
