I have been having trouble starting my car. It would start intermittently. I traced the problem to the starter. When i would bang on it, it would start sometimes. I was wondering if you guys think it is just the solenoid that needs to be replaced or the whole starter. Thanks in advance.

sounds like solenid ,a loose connection on the terminal or f'ed up bearings my Z use to do it. I though it was just seized up from sitting so long. After a couple of intermititent start ups it stoped doin it. I'd get a new one though so its reliable, push starting you car by yourself sucks
