Default Running Newer motor in OBD0?

If I have an OBD2 block can I run it as OBD0? I'm thinking all I need is the OBD0 engine harness and ecu, is this true?

If I'm going the complete wrong way or you know EXACTLY what I need to do, please let me know.

BTW- Car:89 CRX DX dpfi ( I know I need to do the multi-port swap)
Motor:OBD2 B18B1

Use OBD-0 Dist. and sensors off the intake manifold.

It's not hard.

If I were you though, convert to OBD-1 with a conversion harness.

Man I'm trying to figure out what to do to run it OBD-1 but it's seriously kicking my ass. Everyone sends me to rywire and hasport but that doesn't tell me shit. All I can find is b16 wiring, word for word.

His is LS/VTEC isn't it? Do I need the OBD-2 harness that I already have or can I get a OBD-1 and just put it on the motor?

You use a OBD-0 wiring harness.

All you change is your ecu and the harness running to it hwen you convert. Plus you change the plug for the distribtor.

Hes a b16-turbo now. The all motor setup has been gone.

So if I plug an OBD-0 engine harness to the motor and get an obd-0 ecu and distrubutor, basically it'll just connect right up and go. I mean, whatever doesn't match I can always depin.

Convert to multi port first. (easiest to do while the motor is out of the car)

Then, all you have to do is buy the obd-0 to obd-1 Conversion harness, get an obd-1 Distributor and the distrib plugs and an obd-1 ecu. I've done two conversions on my cars. It's pretty straightforward and easy. Goodluck, you will need obd-1 injectors or obd-0 atleast because the clips on the obd2 injectors are different.

Yes you can use an obd0 dizzy and obd0 harness, i just did this on an ls/vtec in a CRX.

I also have an obd0 to obd1 conversion harness for sale if you need it. Then you need an obdI or II dizzy and injectors, you still use your obd0 harness.

The oil pumps are also different, but that won't matter in this application.
