smoke question??????
i was trynna see if the smoke is caused from the turbo or the motor. i was too lazy to take off da whole manifold jsut to see if there is any smoke or oil coming out of it wen i start it up. but couldnt i check by just taken the wastegate pipe off the manifold? would it still be the same as taken the whole manifold off? since pressure is coming out of the wastegate hole? its a log manifold and wastegate for it is on top of the manifold

Re: smoke question??????
Do you have oil coming out of the turbine housing or downpipe? Have you checked to see if your oil return line is kinked or any way deformed?

Re: smoke question??????
oil inside the downpipe means that you blew the turbo's center section shaft seal (turbine side). Also, check the compressor outlet pipe. If you see oil in there, it's an indication the the compressor side haft seal has also failed. Either way, that turbo now needs to be rebuilt......
