Default Power steering

recently my power steering went out and i cant seem to find out what part isnt working i think its the pump, but im not sure the power steeringg wants to start rsponding after i get the rpm above 2k but belowe that it wont respond at all. any ideas would help

i had this problem with my eclipse, for no reason at all the belt would come off. my remedy to it was to just leave it off.

Your ps pulley may be locking up or torqued on too hard. When you're over 2k rpms it's probably getting enough power to try and rotate it. I'd check the torque on it to make sure it's not on too tight.

ill try that hopefully thats it. i really dont wat to have to buy a new ps pump

I took mine off if you have to get a new one you can buy mine.

But, it does sound like a bad pump. It would squeal like a mofo if it was locked up or the belt was screwed.
