ok so i have a 97 civic hx 5 speed and swapped a obd1 94 civic d16z6 into it but put all my obd2 parts on it such as all the sensors, intake manifold etc. but i couldnt use the obd1 distributor due to having a different plug so i just used the obd2 dizzy and with the vtec solenoid it also had a diff plug but that was an easy fix just to clip off the plug from each and saudered it together and put a heat sleeve on it, but what im getting to is why would the motor bogg down even when the pedal is to the floor? is it possibly because im still using the obd2 d16y5 ecu?

good thing its not your car then huh, but im just thinking its the mainstream o2 sensor is not plugged in and the timing being slightly off

well if you THINK you know whats wrong with it...then why the need for a thread?

go back and check everything...or better yet get someone with a scanner to pull the codes and see what it says is wrong

to see if there was anything else it could possibly be and to get other opinions, but with the o2 sensor i need to cut a hole and put a mount there for it so i cant fix it yet

well i would start with the 02 sensor...then if that dont fix it then have it diagnosed and the ecu should tell you whats wrong

the only code it threw was the o2 but im going to put a diff exhaust on it and see what it does with the o2 sensor plugged in,

Fix: BUY a OBD2A to OBD1 conversion harness, BUY OBD1 vtec ecu, BUY OBD2 to OBD1 distributor conversion plug, and stop messing with cars that have VTEC-E(the E stands for ECONOMY...think about) haha
Just stick with OBD1 dude save you from problems like this, OBD2 is junk.....not unless its a mechanic problem
