So I've encountered a bit of a problem changing the clutch in my 94 mustang... I cant get the damned pilot bearing out.. I'm wondering if theres a special tool I need? I'm sure its something simple I'm overlooking, but I cannot for the life of me, get it out .

Any help is appreciated

 

yeah there is a special tool it is a slide hammer with a end on it to grab the bearing a auto parts store might have one.

 

You can use that ^. or harborfreight.com has a cheap gear puller type tool that has three jaws that grip the bearing. If not, stick a whole bunch of thick grease in the hole, and jam in the input shaft in there and it should pop the bearing out. Good luck.

 

Yea it does have to have a special tool. I'm pretty sure most autoparts houses have them for rent or borrow.
