With some quick google searches, I can't find anything that mentions code 42.
I've found that there's a code 43 which is a Fuel delivery code..

It'd also help to know the year and model of your car and what mods are done to it.

sorry my bad it was a 43. Got it running today. I've had people tell me the they could get the 89 civic std to be mpfi obd1 and mini me sohc vtec. but not they could not my first swap and i got it.

I must not be because i just got this bitch running. I have not found anyone that could back up there shit when it came to this swap. dpfi to mpfi obd0 to obd1 plus mini me sohc vtec.
