OBD2b ?
I read somewhere that when performance enhancing modifications are detected on an OBD2b system(CAI,ignition upgrade) the computer will compensate for this by leaning or riching the fuel or advancing or retarding the timing. Wich in turn causes the engine to perform prety much the way it would stock. Can anyone conferm or deny this? Just curious.
Some cars yes, some no.
Some cars can actually compensate for piggyback computers too. Depends on the car and the mods. Basically the ECU will try to make the engine run the way it knows it should. You can make more power, and as long as the ECU detects that the engine is running correctly, then it doesn't care a lot. You could use an AFC, CAI, ignition, and whatever else, and as long as it's tuned correctly the ECU doesn't know it's not stock. It's all based on the sensors, so if the O2 reading is within spec, then often it's happy. There are gross exceptions though. You'll have to talk to people with the same car and engine who have done the same mods..

if by black6gen you're driving an accord, then the only real problem with your ECU is it will detect & correct any timing advances or retards. Only way to really advance/retard timing on such a car is with an MSD BTM or something similiar. But like fabrik said, for basic air/fuel tuning, vtec engagement, etc that you would get from an AFC then you won't run into any problems with your ecu really
