i see people thet convert their ecu's from obd2 to obd1. what is the advantage?

I've heard a lot of people do it due to what they are using to tune.

It has nothing to do with emissions.
OBD2 Honda ECUs can't be chipped, and chipping is the only way to be able to tune a non-reflashable ECU. OBD1 Honda ECUs can be chipped, which is why so many people use an OBD1 ECU and an adapter harness if they need to do any sort of tuning..

If you plan on tuning your car ever, all tuning programs are obd1 compatible. All you need is an ecu and a conversion harness.

haha, you're almost as good as me...j/k probably better. Actually, the emissions are different though. BTW...you can still use a piggy back controller w/ your obd2 ecu, if you wanted to go that way.
